RCA P46924 popping/chirping/gone Can't Post

TV began popping from the back causing blink on screen when viewing. After three days, tv shut down. Chirping sound was heard from back...when unplugged chirping slowed down...then stoppedUnsure. Now what?

Just spent $400 last October for different problem. Help me convince hubby he might be able to fix this. Really like this tv. Thanks!

This sounds like a flyback and horz output transister(HOT) problem. It'll probably be a $50 fix if you do it on your own (if this is indeed the problem) or $150-200 at a repair shop. Repair difficultly is moderate, if he knows how to solder decently he should be fine. You also have to discharge the caps and flyback, because they can hold voltage for days, and that high voltage going through you is not fun (can be deadly).

thanks for giving me your time. I'll pass it on. We went ahead and bought an Akai 42". If he doesn't want to mess with fixing it, I hope we can sell it for something. thanks again!
