I bought this tv used with the problem hoping to repair it. I have read it could be the convergence IC. I removed them and the tv still did not come on. So I tested all the fuses on the power board and found 2 that were bad. I used 2 alligator cables to jump these to get the tv to come on. The tv now comes on but there is no picture or sound. I can hear the high voltage but I get no light from the crts. I am not sure what to do next. Service manual doesnt help much, anything else I read just says its the STK chips but the set should still turn on with them out just convergence out of whack. If anyone has had their's repaired or knows anything I would be grateful. Also anyone know of any good tech sites like this one? I once had this software that would let you look through what techs did to repair stuff, but I cant find the site where I got it from now. Also was a site just for professionals, but did list what they did.
