big screen burning Can't Post

Frown My father-in-law has a 50 inch rear projection RCA tv. He spends plenty of time watching the stocks channel and now there are images showing on his screen that look like stock markets. (TSX COMP, DOW 30, ETC.) Other than replacing the screen is there any way of getting rid of these images. Are they burnt into the plastic or is it just carbon collecting on the plastic surface?
Please helpPirate

I have Mistsubishi 5043 tv, but it does not power up. when you press the power switch, the led is on then back off.
probably the main board is bad. who has the good board or repaired experience? please let me know. thank you very much for your help.
