Sony DVD DVP-S560D problem Can't Post

I have a Sony DVP-S560D that will play audio CDs, but when a DVD is loaded, it will say "no Disc" I have tried multiple DVDs and same result. Any ideas what's wrong, and is it worth getting into and fixing it, or is it just a better idea to just buy a new one?

Its a blown fuse inside your unit. There are a couple of class action lawsuits against Sony for this problem.

Depending on how technical you are and what motherboard you have you may be able to fix it relatively quickly. In my case my motherboard was different so I couldn't fix it yet.

Do a google search on fixing a DVP-S560D and there are a bunch of good website with step by step instructions.

I just had the same problem with my DVD player. I replaced the micro fuses located on the underside of the DVD drive, you have to remove the drive from the mainboard to get to them. Below is a link that shows the location of the micro fuses, mine were yellow and very tiny. My repair man gave me the option of replacing the fuses or putting in jumpers.

I put the jumpers in because if it fails again its history anyway.Wink

I hope you have the same luck i had, im watching dvd's are YOU.

Please remove fuse F402 and replace with 0-ohm resistor on MB board (side B).

Next, exchange resistors R416 and R418. The original values are 150K, change them

both to 82K ohms
