HP DLP md6580n wont turn on Can't Post
Im looking at a HP md6580n . There is no power. No lights. Ive been working in the service industry since 1975 but i am unfililiar with the new DLP television sets. Im wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong. the lamp isn't visibly broken. However when i test the two ends of the lamp there is no connection. Are these lamps like light bulbs should the filament from end to end create a closed circut?

That's a mercury vapor lamp, not a filament type lamp like a normal light bulb. To my knowledge those HP DLP sets have no service info available nor parts from HP. My company tried getting it but no dice.
