Matsui TUTV Set top box	Can't Post

I have a matsui tutv set top box which now won't switch on from standby. I have changed the remote control batteries and have only had the device for six months. During this time it occassionally switched itself off and on again. I put this down to the TV being old or a problem with the SCART lead but this seems to be something a bit more terminal.
Does anybody have any suggestions (helpfull ones only please)

if its only 6 months old it should be under warranty.freeview boxes cant be repaired so dump it if you have no warranty.you can buy a new one cheaper than trying to get it fixed
