Need Indoor DTV antenna Can't Post

Dear Person:....
Some of you will recognize me , most of you won't...
I'm NOT a newbie here...
I have 2 analog TV's with DTV converter boxes...
I have a reception problem...
I'm useing non-amplified indoor rabbit ears that worked just fine with analog broadcasts...
Along comes DTV & they don't work so well...
I suspect that the new channels are broadcasting at a lower power level...
I heard rumors that they would boost power after Jun,12,09...
It's been 3 days now & no such luck...
I live in the Las Vegas valley area...
The TV stations transmitting antennas are close together on a series of mountains about 20 miles from my home...
Some of my channels pixelate...
Sometimes I do not get them at all...
My neighbor bought one of those weird looking Philips DTV antennas (For about $40.00 USD) & is haveing the same problem..
I'm willing to spend the same amount...
The problem I'm haveing is:
WHAT IS a GOOD AMPLIFIED DTV indoor antenna??...
WHO makes a GOOD one ??....Reasonably priced ??
I've "Googled" it & am lost when it comes to picking a GOOD one...Weird shapes , DB's , etc...
I've been out of the TV bussiness about 2 years now & DTV goes WOoosh right over the top of my head...

Your help WILL BE APPRECIATED!!...Sly...

Get used to the NEW "normal."Laugh
Pictures used to "fade/flutter" - NOW pixelate (or freeze)! Sound used to contain some "hiss or static," now you lose it completely.

It did do wonders for minimal to moderately snowy reception though.

The OLD antenna rules still apply. (Bigger = Better, Higher = Better / Closer {to transmitter} = Better, etc.)

As a retired TV tech that installed fringe & deep fringe outdoor antennas , I'm VERY well aquainted with the above info...In MY past experience "Bigger" did NOT always = "Better"...Long story for another time...The rest is 100% correct...

However , I do NOT need anything as big as that...

What I need is a GOOD quality indoor antenna with good enough gain to give me a non-pixelated pix...

I'm hopeing that we have an "antenna expert" here at this forum that could guide me to a decent antenna....
Someone who can tell me what to look for in the way of specific performance stats (esp. DB gain) for a residence about 20 miles away from the transmitting antenna...
Perhaps even Model # , Brand, etc....
Something around the $40.00 USD range....

jts1957:..THANK you VERY much for your reply....

Later.....Ron.M...Cool.....
