Another new guy question... Can't Post

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I haven't had any luck at other forums. I have a Samsung SP-P4251 EDTV. I'm trying to get the best picture I can possibly get out of it. I have Directv service and also have an RCA HD Directv receiver. I have all of the connections running through a Monster Clean Power surge protector. I have the HD receiver connected to the TV with a Monster S-Video cable. I was told that I could get a better picture if I used the DVI-D connection. When I tried to do this the picture was unwatchable. It was all bright vivd colors almost like it was in "tie-dye mode". Does anyone know what the deal is with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a few options - connect with dvi and turn off the DNI option.Or just use the two component video connections. (the red, green, blue connections)

Try bypassing the dvi or component video cables from the Monster clean power.

Get the Avia set-up dvd and use to set your colors correctly.

The dvd is very user friendly and takes you step by step on setting contrast, brightness, sharpness, color and tint.

It's a dvd titled Avia Guide to Home theater.

The dvd is a step by step self help dvd. Will help get the color and tint levels just right.

You can adjust your contrast levels. Most sets come with the contrast set all the way up.They should be reduced.

Each chapter in the dvd is a different test.
