Desperate for a DVR Blu Ray Combo..Does it Exist?

Hey y'all! I am desperate to find a Blu-Ray/DVR combo. I live in Costa Rica where we just bought a nice Panasonic Plasma 50 in. full HD. Problem is, (and we didn't know it at the time), but our SKY Cable doesn't offer HD service in Costa Rica...yet. They say it will come, but don't know when....translation.....maybe never.
So I am desperate to find this combo so I can enjoy my tv I paid so much money for. And since the cable programming here sucks as well (most of the good shows are on at 2AM), I am looking for a DVR combo so I can record and watch the good stuff during the prime time crap they show here.
Any ideas?
