Digital Antenna Project Can't Post

Looking to make a project out of a broken TV antenna… the coaxial into it is severed. There are a number of DIY videos on youtube that suggest better results that some commercial products. I have a digital converter box for over the air digital programming and have generally had good reception. A common solution is a coil. I’ve made a prototype and would ask the following:

- Is a coil a plausible solution
- The gauge of the wire, the circumference of the coil, the number of coils per inch… I suspect that each could affect reception. Is there and guidance on this?
- The coax connects to a circuit board… Looking for the best way to reestablish a connection to a longer stretch of coax going to the digital converter. I am an amateur but would want the best practice for reconnecting two raw ends of coax.
I have images of the items uploaded to an online folder.

Much thanks in advance for an informed opinion
