Flat Screen TV Switches on by it self Can't Post

I have a 32 inch Philips flat screen tv hooked to a cable box that switches on by itself after the cable box and TV have been switched off. After approximately 30 seconds the TV will switch on by itself. When the connections from the cable box to the TV are disconnected, the TV can be switched off and will not switch on again. Could the cable box be sending some kind of signal (even though it's switched) to the TV that makes it switch on by itself?

There are 5 input cables from the cable box to the AV1 connection on the TV. (Green to Y, Blue to Pb, Red to Pr and and two cables to left and right audio. This is a problem that just started after perfect operation for ten months. The problem was reported to Philips and a new TV was shipped. The new TV does the same thing as the original.
Thanks for the reply.

Well, the problem with the tv switching on by itself was caused by an infrared signal from my laptop computer which was sitting on a desk nearby. The infrared beam from the laptop was telling the TV to switch on.
