HDTV "Monitor" Can't Post

I know what HDTV is, but I see some TVs listed as HDTV "Monitors". What does it mean if it is refered to as a "Monitor"?

A monitor has no tuner inside the tv.

You use the satellite receiver,or cable box or dvd player as the source and the monitor as the display.

Since you need a source for hd channels anyway(sat box, cable box,or ota box) there's no need for a tuner inside the tv.

Some of the newer sets have cable card ready, where you just get a credit card sized card from your cable company. This activates the tuner inside for cable programs.
