Blue light power ol Can't Post

I have an Element ELEFW408. The power light really bothers me. I tried tape but then it blocked the remote. Is there anyway to turn this feature off?

Do ANY ONE of the following:
a) Desolder and 'float' .... 'Red' and/or 'Blue' of CON1 (whichever color of LED you object to);
b) Desolder and remove LED1;
c) If No soldering iron available, take a pair of pliers and rotate LED1 until it comes off the board; or
d) Encapsulate LED1 (and ONLY LED1) in BLACK RTV silicone so no light can be seen.

jts1957;...
With ALL due respect , let me offer up this suggestion;...

Black Manta;....
Rather than go pulling the TV apart , try this;..
Get some black vynal electrical tape & cut off about a half inch..
Place the tape directly over the power LED...
The IR receiver for the remote should be separate & away from the power LEDs , so if done as I said , you should be OK...

Good Luck...

See photo in link. They are 1" (or less) apart. Cool

Ron,
Hope you're O.K. You hadn't been 'seen' on the site for a month.

jts1957;....

I did check the eBay listing...
I could not see well enough to determine the LED & IR locations...
Thats why I said to use a piece of tape 1/2" & cover the power LED only...
Should work...
I don't think it would be a good idea to rip out or unsolder the power LED..
In the event there's a problem later on with the TV , doesn't the power LED flash a code ???..

I'm OK & doing fine...
There aint much for us analog TV techs here anymore...(OR anywhere , for that matter !!!)..
So I jump in when I think I can be positive & help someone out...Angelic...
