I have a Sanyo dp42840 42" hd tv. I was gonna check the number of the t-con board but could not find a way to get to it. It is under the large cover on back. Will I have to unplug all the plugs to get the back off? I know you can have access to the power and main board by removing two screws on the panel on the back.
I am having a problem with not getting a pic or sound. I found a repair manual on the internet and it had a step diagram of what to check. The last one was to check the t-con board.

There can be ONLY ONE Model Number ...

You will need to remove plugs to remove 'cabinet back'. (BACK CABINET REMOVAL: Remove 17 screws to take the back cabinet off. (C: 3x14, 13pcs; D: 4x8, 4 pcs))
You've only removed the 'Back Lid.' (BACK LID REMOVAL: Remove 2 screws (A: 3x6) to take the Back Lid off.)

So I'm presuming you found the "Repair Flow Chart: Trouble Condition:
Green Power LED and LCD backlights are on, but no video or OSD."
It's the ONLY flowchart that has tcon as 'last one' ?

Shop Jimmy shows two possible tcon boards for that model number:

However, one would think that if it were the tcon at fault that you would still have sound on the various inputs?
