What kind of HD receiver for HD ready TV? Can't Post

I have an HD ready TV, and would like to add a receiver/tuner/set top box (or whatever) to make this TV work like my true
HD TV. I have cable, and would like to provide my own box rather than rent one from the cable company.
What kind of box is available?

Not sure what you mean by HD ready, all HD sets show HD .

Most have Hd tuners built in which when you connect an over the air tv antenna allows you view your local tv channels in both HD and regular SD .

If have cable, you just call them to upgrade your subscription to Hd. They bring you a new box and it is connected to the cable and then connected to your set.
Or if set uses a HD cable card and your cable uses HD cable cards, then you don't need the cable box. They just connect the cable directly to your set and put in the cable card.

The only time you use your own cable box that I'm aware of is to steal cable .

Tank1, I'll try to clarify.
I have an HD TV on cable that receives digital and HD signals. I have an HD ready TV, which does not have an HD tuner, but is capable of showing 1080i resolution. I need a receiver for the HD signals so I can get the high def on this latter TV. In other words, I want a receiver that will act like the tuner on the true HD TV, and input it into the HD ready TV over a component connection.
I'm not stealing anything, but I don't want to lease a receiver.
Thanks for your response.

As mentioned, I am connected to cable. I can find plenty of receivers for over the air signals, but none for the cable (except the built in one on my HD TV).
Thanks for your interest.
