Which TV to buy? Can't Post

Hi,

I'm quite a noob at shopping for HDTVs. I'm planning to buy a TV for my dorm room. The size of the room is 8*9 sq.ft. and I have a cable connection. I'm not sure if I'll receive HD channels or not. I'll also be using PS3. My budget is under $300.

Please let me know which TV (size, shape, specifications) I should be looking for and it wouldn't be a problem if the price goes up a little.

Regards.

At that price point, I do not think you can get a hd tv from a good company with any decent size to it.

I personally would look into buying a regular tv or better yet by a good used one from someone that just upgraded to HD.

To get HD channels from any cable company requires a add on cable box , and your cable bill would also be higher.

I'm looking for a 20" one. Remember it's my dorm room. I don't want a big ass tv on my wall.

Perhaps suggestions for a 20" is what I'm looking for.

There are no good options at that size for hd. I think getting a hd under 40" is a waste of money.

IMHO you are not going to see any difference between a 20" regular tv and a 20" hd .

I think its worth remembering unless most of the channels you watch are in HD there is little point forking out alot of money for a big HD TV. For sure yes, you can future proof by buying a HDTV now but maybe paying alot is waste of money?

I am most familiar with the Sony LCD televisions as I am in the market for one myself. I would suggest either the 19" or 26" LCD TV.
I have seen the 19" for around $500 and the 26" for around $700.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and good luck!
