New tvs are set to show off well in showrooms. The contrast is set at 100%.

Calibration will improve the picture.A simple basic calibration can be done with a dvd player and a Avia set up dvd. This is a do it yourself fix.

A professional calibration uses special equipment to get color temperature set to spec.
