Is it normal for the hd channels volume to be lower than non-hd? I notice this more so with the local hd channels. I use dish network. thx!

Yes, it takes merely secs. ( HD receiver) to digitally convert the picture. During the process, as it's slows, the sound decreases from the delayed of the converted picture.

Depends on the internal setup of the TV and the level set as standard when broadcast. It should not be excessive so dont treat it as an issue. Have had customers measuring the picture to see it was central, do that as well and you find most channels differ. Delay losses dont work for me as a delay signal can have an amplifier.
