I have a Phillips HDTV
I have an xbox 360

My TV cables work fine on my hdtv
My Xbox cables will not work on my TV
But my xbox works on all of my friends' HDTV's.

First, I woud like to tell you that I like the way you wrote/presented the issues. simple but vivid with the problem related. I may not be able to help you further since I'm not a gamer like yourself. Although, I owned PS3 for movie playing. You mentioned friends, does your friends has same model PHILLIPS hdtv? Based on the pic. you submitted, it does'nt seem you even get to the XBOX menu set up. Also, check your tv input compatibility. I looked over the back of the tv input and saw the yellow rca plugged along with the component cables. Again, not all tv's has same compatibility of input although we're looking at it as component or dvi.
