Black pixels flashinf red on Samsung

I did a search on here and couldn't find anything relevant to this, so please don't yell at me if this has been posted already before. I own a Samsung 40" lcd. Today I noticed that all the black on the screen was flickering red. At first I thought it was my crappy cable service again but then it annoyed me so much I decided just to watch a dvd instead. But when I turned the dvd player on it was doing the same thing. both are hooked up by HDMI cables and I did try a spare one to make sure it wasn't the cables. But still I get the same result. Could this be my video board? My tv is out of warranty so I'm out of luck there. I can easily fix this myself if I know what is the problem and where to buy the parts. Can anyone give me some insight on whats wrong with my TV? Thanks in advance for any help!!!
