Help with Philips/Magnavox LCD

Hi,
I have a 6 month old Philips/Magnavox HD LCD flat screen - 32 inch. The tv works great and is set up with cable. However, when i turn it off, for about 10 seconds there is what I can only consider to be almost like a popping sound. It makes a sound with popping and clicking for 10 seconds and then is off.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
A Diagnostic?
Is this something that needs immediate attention?
I believe I am past the time for taking it back.
