Says who? PDP's and LCD's are just like computers, they all can be fixed! If you are making ref. to the "screen" being broken (as cracked), it is not.
Thank for your input anyways

either the new board has gone faulty or possibly something loose was disturbed when the board was changed which has now reshown the fault.

hey, tech thanks for your replies. So you do not think any thing else could be at fault but that board. My question is why will it work for 24 hrs and go back to doing the same....could it be something else shorting out this board? and how do i checked? it just got 3 ribbons going to it.
hey thanks again

Hey im not stopping to whatever you wanna do. Computers are swappable by compatibility and it's different in regards to a > PERMANENT SEALED SCREEN. Take note! >Once you open the unit without anti-static pad while you not wearing gloves at all. You might as well contributed all statics as result to malfunctions of all chips on boards....These causes are not visible to chip-sets when good or not. they will work for a while as exibited to your 24 hour periods time and it went back.
Once again, im not stopping you at all. you can attempt a million times soon you realize you could have replace that junk for a new one.

switch it on with the back off and carefully prod around with an insulated stick to see if you can induce the fault to appear or disappear as it may just be a loose connection somewhere. it would not surprise me if the new board was faulty, happens all the time which is why i asked if it was new and where did it come from.

Hey tech thanks again, I will try that and see if it fixes anything. The board was bought on line from a supply house. I'll report back on my results, once again thank you.

SteveAlton, check the screen with a flashlight to confirm there is no display. It is probably your lamps went out.
If so check inverter board or bad lamps.

To prove this simply turn the tv on in a very dark room and tune in a channel so you can hear the audio. then with a powerful flashlight, point it into the screen and look around the edge of the flashlight for evidence of video. Be careful not scratch the panel with the flashlight as you place it on it.

I think the board your friend changed was faulty. You can consult to your friend for this problem once again. Or you can purchase a new LCD. If you want any suggestion for new LCD you can visit a site “rackmountsales” that I have visited earlier and got the best devices.

Did you try unplugging the board then plugging it back in? That may just reset everything, because you did say it was working at first?

Open it to step back and carefully poke a stick around the insulation to see if it induced the appearance or disappearance of failure, because it may just be a loose connections...
