Lines on screen when using composite cables? Can't Post

I just got a brand new 32 inch Sony Bravia and it is great. The HDTV channels look excellent and i love it. I got a brand new set of component cables and when i put in a DVD in through them there is faint lines and a little snowy distortion on the screen. It's not real bad but it's just enough to kinda make things look fuzzy. I hook the same dvd player up through composite cables in Video 1 and all that distortion is gone. The picture just isn't as good with composite, so i'd like to watch with HD component cables but i can't figure out why there is distortion coming in.

If i had another set of components i'd try them, but it's hard to imagine it would be them seeing as they are brand new monsters.

any suggestions or thoughts?! thanks

Perhaps your dvd player output was set originally to composite, s-video etc., go back to your dvd player menu and change it to component / progressive if any.
