Hi,

The sound on my Samsung LE32A336J1D which I have had since 2008 is not working, I have tried every manual fix possible with no luck. Initially I thought it could be the HDMI but then I tried a scart lead and still no sound. I also opened up the back to check for any blown components but found nothing. I have pictures of the circuit board which I can post if it would help.

Prior to the issue it had been in storage for 9 months and before going into storage it worked fine. I am currently not working so I dont have the funds to buy a new TV so hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am happy to pay for repairs but not at the quotes I am getting (around £100) as I would rather put that towards a new TV.

User Manual Fixes:
Normal picture but no sound.
Check the volume.
Check whether the MUTE button has been pressed on the remote control.
Check if "TV Speaker" is on.

You seem to have 'missed' trying half of the inputs.
Has or NO Has sound when the following are connected & selected:
Tuner?
A/V?
PC?
Component?

I don't know if there is a hint of sarcasm in your answer but as stated I have tried every manual option/fix (including the basics) and yes I have also tried the other inputs but since the TV is connected to my cable its the main ones i have listed.

Audio may be handled differently for certain inputs, so it is important to rule all in or all out.

Does the signal appear at C2058 thru C2065?

Does the signal appear at #3, #13 of IC2002?

Does the signal appear at BD2006 thru BD2009?

Im sorry your response is too technical for me to understand. I just need advice on what it could be and how it could be fixed something which is simple to understand and could help someone else in future.

Follow the speaker wires back to a printed circuit board. Change that board. Cross your fingers and hope it works.
