Sony KD-65XD8599 Left side backlight

Hi all,
I've got a Sony KD-65XD8599 that has a fault with the backlights. The left half of the screen has no backlight, and from what I've been reading it points to the T-Con board. I've re-seated the cables, to no effect.
When I search for the part number (6871L-4473A) I'm struggling to find spares (UK). The part 6871L-4473B comes up a lot, but the service manual says that the board needs to be specific. Can anyone give me any advice on this? Some people say that the B version can be used, but as I said, manual says no.
Can anyone offer any advice on a bit more fault-finding, or whether there is an alternative board that can be used?
