Toshiba Inverter HS32WV12 repair needed Can't Post

From 32HL67U Toshiba LCD. Also used in Samsung LN-T3253H
Board also labeled INV32N12A. Tv blinks on for a few seconds then goes black. Image is there when viewed with a flashlight torch.
Anyone had luck repairing this board? Anyone have repair manual?
Thanks

If you can obtain replacement bulbs and feel confident changing them, "do them all at the same time."Cool

Re: [Rogelio] Toshiba Inverter HS32WV12 repair needed [In reply to] Can't Post

this set has 12 lamps. I can find 720mm x 3mm tubes. At 15 to 20 dollars each, is it worth replacing them all? This set was given to me and I am trying to repair it for my son to play games on.
I was trying to think how I could leave 2 lamp out of circuit and fool protection circuit. would have to shunt transformer outputs though. Is that possible?

Hi,

I'm glad to here you fixed your TV. I have the exact same set with the same problem, burnt out CCFL. I tried a known working inverter and the problem still exists.

I would like to open the panel to check for broken burnt CCFLs. I'm a computer tech, and I've never tried replacing a ccfl before, I have a couple of question if you do not mind answering.

1) where did you purchase the ccfls? What is the website and CCFL order number?

2) How do you open up the Samsung LCD panel to get at the CCFL? from the front or back?

3) How easy was it to get the bulbs out?

TIA.

I figured out how to get the panel apart, I found the broken CCFL. Can you please tell me the part number and where you bought it.

Thanks

Your Google must NOT be working. Much info here:

No Google is working.

I just thought that if someone already figured out the lamp that is confirmed working, they would be willing to share that information.

Sorry.
So 4.0 x720mm correct?

Re: [ciucca] Toshiba Inverter HS32WV12 repair needed [In reply to] Can't Post

Sorry for slow reply. I swapped computers so I haven't been able to check posts or email.
I purchased mine from CCFL warehouse. sales@ccflwarehouse.com
They were out of 3mmX720 so I used the 4mmx 720mm. They were actually a little bit shorter than the original but worked OK. CCFL has ordered the 3mm but I didnt want to wait.
Remove the white plastic cover to expose the bulb ends. Make sure to open the connector that holds the lamp leads in place by pulling up on the clip. They are locked in place.
I raised the end of a lamp and slid the tubes out the side. The plastic clips that hold the tube are brittle. I didnt want to risk breaking the tube by trying to snap them out and in. If you have to use the 4mm like I did, you will have to break one side of the support clip to install the larger diameter lamp. I broke the top side of clip so it still rested on the bottom for support.
Hope this helps

Do the new bulbs being slightly different affect the picture in a noticeable way? thanks again for your help.

no. Only on a black screen can the slightly brighter set of lamps be seen. The diffusers do a god job. Since my son is using this tv for his game system, I was not worried about that. If I was using this set for my main tv, I would have moved the new lamps. One on top and one on bottom. But I didnt want to risk breaking a good lamp.

Thanks for your help. The CCFL 4x720 arrived today. I put it on the bottom of the 12 lights, and it works great! I put the TV in my bedroom, and my wife is happy.
