Vistron VIS026 Backlight out	Can't Post

Hi all

I have Vistron VIS026 that i am trying to repair, when switched on from standby the backlight stays on for a approx 1 second, then goes out, the standby light stays green. This happens everytime i switch off then on.

Any ideas ??

Do you still have very faint video when a lit flashlight is shined at an angle to the screen?

Then you may have something more than just a problem with the "backlight." Wink

First check the Power Supply and inverter board(s) for any puffed top electrolytic capacitors.

I have had the inverter out and looked over the board for anything out of the ordinary, caps dry joints etc.
The power supply is putting out 24v to the inverter Unimpressed

Just found another power supply and swaped it over and i still have the same problems so i guess the power supply is not at fault <br>

Or BOTH have the same defect. Wink

Do CCFL bulb(s) have any physical damage?

...the other p/s board was borrowed from a working TV, i have just tried another inverter and tubes and still does the same, so that leaves main board or scan driver, i think lol

Then again i think it must be the main board as it still happens when i disconnect the driver board, or am i barking up the wrong tree, bearing in mind i am a noobie to all this

Two Vistron VIS026's at the same location, at the same time???

Swap main board.

NO !!! lol, one is a techwood with the same p/s and the backlight was from samsung tv Laugh
