$2000 EDTV or $3000 HDTV? Can't Post

Hey guys,
I'm in a dilema here. I am wondering if I should go with 42" EDTV plasma or 42" HDTV plasma for $1k more. Is EDTV becoming outdated?

That depends to your application. Viewing intended like dvd, movies, tv , you won't notice the difference between the 2. Although, they say EDTV downgrade HDTV signals from being high definition. But if you use it for computer graphics or surfing from internet the most. I would suggest the HDTV. I have tried my EDTV through my PC and it's not quite impressive.

if I were you! I would take the HDTV still.

One thing most people don't know, is that even HDTV plasmas aren't usually HDTV (as in they don't display all the resolution of 720p and very few TVs in general handle 1080i, though that number is increasing)...

The other thing to consider is that EDTV usually has better black levels, which means better contrast, which means the picture is more vivid...If you're concerned about the highest resolution signals (computers and the like) get the HDTV, if your primary viewing is DVDs and HD sports, the EDTV will generally look better and with the lower cost makes more sense...
