42 in jvc help Can't Post

hello looking for help I have a jvc model vm 42dv2 recently started getting horizontal waves moving thru the screen that when first turned on cover the whole screen and as the tv warms up they eventually dissipate over a period of ten to fifteen minutes can anyone help me with what parts probably need to be replaced to fix this issue

well like i said it is a jvc pd 42dv2 on the tv itself it says vm 42dv2 i purchased it at a px while i was stationed in Germany now downrange and my wife is having issues with it just looking to be able to help her long distance

thanks i know it is in the pd 42dv2 plasma family from the users manual

As with any item, the first step is a good visual (with my eyes?Laugh) examination. Take cover off and inspect all for anything burnt, cracked, discolored, loose, etc. Especially on power supply - check for "puffed" (NO milk or sugerWink) electrolytics.

i will email my wife and ask her to take the back off and take some close up pics of the cards will get back to you, so i take it that this could be a variety of defects??

Well even an untrained person has eyes.
If they have minimal soldering skills and some common sense (observe polarity, replace "like with like," don't go gnawing on or licking the thick red wires,Crazy etc.), they shouldn't go too far wrong.
