Hello,
I am trying to decide between getting a 42" Panasonic EDTV vs a 42" Pansonic HDTV. Is there much difference between the two, since the resolution of 42" HDTV is not even really true HDTV. OR should I get a Sharp
37" Aqous since they are capable of displaying true HDTV?

If I were you I would get the Pani Plasma HDTV. It has a 768 resolution, while not full 1080 HD it is still very beautiful and hands down better than any 480 EDTV. There are tons of 720 and 1080 HD broadcasts available now, so the HDTV is your better choice. The 37 " Sharp is an LCD right? It will be more expensive and won't have as good of color (black) levels and won't look as good if you sit off center.

To be honest with you! why don't you try them both at home. Within those time You will then know what DISPLAY applies to you. Return one or keep them both!

Actually, I don't even know why I said the EDTV, I'm not really considering it. However, I was also thinking of Phillips plasma and Sony Bravia and Phillips LCD. In regards to buying both displays and returning one after I know which one I like, is that possible?

Decision making is when you truly LIVE with it! fully calibrate each materials (videos you own ) tested/ compared over the other. Your satisfaction should then determine which display you choose. Price shouldn't matter cause once you decline the one you really like just bec. the thought of "too expensive" on your budget? then neither the 2 is good for you!
