Advice on Panasonic Plasma 50 inch

I recently purchased a Panasonic Viera TC-P50G20 as an open boxed item. I purchased it for $999.99. Retail price was $1,400. I also ended up buying the store's two-year warranty since it has been on display for 6 to 8 months in the store. Thought it made sense at the time. The problem is they promised me a stand that would work with it. They lost the original. It has been three weeks of back and forth and sales people dropping the ball (from a major retail chain!!!). I finally have the base but no pole or screws. I still have about a week left to return the TV. I am wondering if I should keep it or just find a better deal on another Panasonic Viera? Is this model worth keeping? My wife is already saying we should return and never shop at this store again. I have been too patient but close to returning it also. I have been looking at the TC-P50ST30, TC-P50S30 and the TC-P50GT25. The specs all started looking the same after a while. I seem to recall manufactures sometimes use some kind of coding in the model names. What does the "ST30" and "S30" and GT25" mean? I am willing to spend between $1,000 to maybe $1,200. The TC-P50S30 looked interesting but someone mentioned to me it would be a step down from the TC-P50G20. I found a vendor that sells the TC-P50GT25 for $999.98. Is the TC-P50GT25 better than the TC-P50G20? Also, should I be worried about buying from an on-line vendor who is not local in regards to the product arriving undamaged. What about purchasing extended warranties? Ya? Nay? Any advice would be helpful.
