Advice on plasma can you help Can't Post

Hi am looking at buying a plasma but am hearing good and bad things. Can anyone shed some light, are they worth the price? do you need to re-charge the gas? If so how often? Is it worth taking extended warrinty? Anything else you can add will be happily read.

Thx

What I've been told is the the screen has a five year life span. If your willing to spend the money then look at replacing it is said time, unless you don't watch much tv, etc. It could last a lifetime.

HONESTLY!. Don't spend money on things you have no idea about!. Just one thing! if you want something you fell for it and can't sleep thinking about it! > that's a good thing! go for it!

when you do so, do not take any warranty of this technology!.( It works like FLOURESCENT, You can't tell really how long should or would last, trust your instinct) Just make sure you have confident on retailer's to where you are trying to purchase, have it shipped inside your household, test it in good working condition overnight if possible.....PANASONIC I recommend!

Recharging of gas is a complete myth, I don't know where this started but it is flat out wrong. I forget who wrote it but the 5 year plasma life is way off too. The avg. half life of a plasma t.v. is 30,000 hours !! The half life of the new lines from NEC and Pioneer is 60,000 hours ! 60,000 hours is 8 hours a day for 20 years !! A lot of people bad mouth plasma ( because they want to justify not being able to purchase one due to expense in my opinion). I would def. recommend getting an extended warranty to cover you in case of dead pixels. Good luck.Wink
