Daewoo DP42SM Plasma Power Up Failure Can't Post

Please help. I have a Daewoo DP42SM Plasma and recently it failed to power up. The green "on" light comes on but...thats it.

I read somewhere on the web that it may be the power module. I contacted a parts house and they are out of stock on this spendy part with NO in-stock date in sight. Then I came across this site and saw a post from a fellow who may have had a similar problem. Someone wrote back with the following reply:

"see my ebay sale 5754393105, I had to buy this to fix my TV, daewoo wanted £500 after reading this manual, I found the problem, a 46p resistor need replacing on the power supply board. Smile "

Does anyone know what he is refering to????

I went to ebay and his item # has expired and was removed.

What is the resistor # and what is the value?

I would really hate to replace the whole Module just for 1 or 2 components.

Any information would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

Re: [Hi voltage] Daewoo DP42SM Plasma Power Up Failure [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi this post was by me I was selling copys of the daewoo workshop manual on ebay, I can sell a copy cheap if you require.

First, if you remove the back of your tv you will see the all the boards, follow the in coming power to the power board, their are various connectors come from it, their should be a sticker with the output voltages for each one on the back plate, test them first.

The resistor i replaced was on the power supply board

cheers mark

My power supply totally stopped working and I got my hands on a 2nd one, and it's doing the same thing as your current PS. It will go from red to green fine, but just stay on green and nothing on the screen.

Have you figured anything out yet?

kearn, how much for that info?
