Did I ruin my plasma TV? Can't Post

I recently renovated and have a wall plug with two plugs and the coax cable. While fiddling with the PVR last night the cable cord stretched and the metal connector touched a hot post on one of the plugs. ZAP. So, I overcharged the PVR which immediately cratered and the Panasonic TH-42PX80U Plasma TV won't respond to remote nor set front input. The TV unit will power up and the screen does seem to light up a bit but it doesn't respond to controls. The cable company is sending out a new PVR but are there any checks I can perform on the TV to discern whether it's beyond repair?

Thanks very much for any help.

Fritz
