Well, it arrived today (only half an hour outside the slot they mentioned so not too bad). Initial impressions when I got it out of the box were good. Kit looked quite sleek, and was pleasantly surprised that the tuner was built in, and not a big box, like I'd half expected. OK, here's my initial thoughts: Picture is not bad in some respects, although with some images, there's a sort of slightly misty effect (don't know what the technical term is, as you've gathered I don't know all the techy buzzwords, some people use on these forums). Skin tones sometimes look good but other times a bit 'painting by numberish'. The latter problem is particularly prevelent with images that are out of focus in the scene you're watching. Sound is fairly decent (compared to my previous T.V) no real complaints there. As to the specification from the argos site, it refers to 'Multi-system twin TV tuner'. I haven't found any evidence of a twin tuner, which is what I thought would give me the picture in picture facility. The site says 'Picture in picture (view your PC screen whilst watching TV). ', which I thought, based on the twin-tuner mentioned, would give me 2 TV pictures, or a TV picture whilst in PC mode. However, the manual only refers to Picture in Picture in PC mode, which is of no use to me, as I will never plug my PC into it. The site also mentions 'PAT (view picture and teletext at the same time).' Haven't found any evidence of that yet either. And, really importantly, there are many screen modes, 4:3, 14:9, 16:9, etc, including 'Auto'. 'Auto' for me should set the screen to the mode of transmission, i.e. if it's 4:3, I should see 4:3, not fat mode, but that is what I'm getting, unless I'm doing something stupid So overall, I'm quite dissappointed, although I haven't had much time to play around with it, and also whether there is any truth in the comments I've read that plasmas take a while to settle down. I'm going to set my old TV up next to it tomorrow, to see if some of the problems are just 'Connectivity' issues. I'll post again when I've had a proper play, but put it this way, I'm keeping all the packaging, and researching what I may replace it with (LG model seems to be getting decent reviews at around £1350), as I don't want to faff around with buying PW6 screens with input boards, and whatever else needs plugging in, like a lot of the more knowledgable people on these boards recommend. I just want a 'plug and play' TV. Cheers JohnnyBoy
