Hi I'm definitely not saying that the MPEG artifacts I'm seeing are part and parcel of having a plasma - they are part and parcel of seeing them because of having either a bigger display, or a higher resolution display, which is why I made the comparison with an LCD monitor. I get the same effect from my PC's digital terrestrial decoder on my PCs LCD monitor too. This is why I've been careful to state that this is why I'm finding with *my* plasma. Which is why I suspect your display issue is different, and I think you already mentioned it was dependant on the input you are using. If it's the case, and we have the same model, then yours has a fault that mine does not, and therefore isn't therefore a 'feature' of this model. Output from my consoles (via SCART) show none of this, and neither does output from my laptop via the DVI input, showing perfect colour graduation, which is again why I said earlier that for me, there's no problem with the display panel itself - it's reproducing what's coming in, and has been verified against other output devices. I don't use the aerial input, only SCART and DVI. All my consoles and my set top box share the one input. To try to be a little clearer, with MPEG artifacting, you tend to get little blurry 'box' effects around sharp edges, especially during periods of rapid movement. The best way to see this is to play back a small (low biotrate) video file on a mobile that supports video playback. DHC can help correct this because it's introducing an averaging effect. A picture will really help. I'll have a go tonight with mine. Also, a quick tets would be to bring up a menu screen from whatever set top box you're using. Do you a 'oainting by numbers' effect on both this, and the incoming programme image? There are rumours of lots of returns, maybe there has been a serious quality control issue? Argos seem eager to replace as well. Why not see what it's like with a replacement?
