Here's my deal... can anybody help me find out if plasma is right for me? Can't Post

A couple of weeks ago a friend's parents bought a ~42" (I think) Hitachi LCD RP TV. After watching some TV and a little bit of DVD on it I decided that if I go ahead with getting a 16x9 TV, I'd get a plasma. I didn't care for the pixelation, crappy black tones, terrible viewing angles, etc. Now here's where I've got a dilemma. I would mostly be using the TV for video games (PS2 and GameCube... both with component video outputs) and for DVDs. I currently have a Dish Network Satellite setup, but since I'm living at home (for the time being) I can't necessarily count on this forever. I guess I'm most concerned about having good quality for my DVDs as well as video games, but at the same time I don't want watching TV to be a terrible experience... although I'm not necessarily looking for crystal clear quality. I've got a couple of other concerns.... The biggest one is cash. Preferably, I'd like to stay within $3,000 - $4,000 for a 42" plasma if possible (obviously the best quality I can afford in that range). The other major concern is burn-in. Some people have mentioned that it's not really a good idea to have any image on the screen for 15+ minutes at a time. Obviously this could be a potential problem with video games. I suppose this post is long enough for the time being. I hope somebody has some good info for me. Oh yeah, by the way, if I do buy one, it'd probably be around the Christmas holiday season just so I can save up some money as well as possibly cash in on sales/lowered prices due to the technology being out for a few more months. Thanks for helping this plasma newbie out!
