Image burn in problem Can't Post

Hi, i just got a new plasma (50PB2DR LG) and i have noticed that images will leave ghost images on the screen specially after gaming. It is only noticeable while on a entirely black screen. I have tested it and an image left for even 3 - 4 seconds will leave a ghost image. Is this normal?

I have the orbiter option set on but it still leaves ghost images Frown Does ghost images disappear if the tv is turned off for a long period like over night? Thanks for any replies as i am becoming very worried and am starting to regret my purchase.

Thank you

if its a permanent burn and the whitewash feature in the menu does not fix it you are stuffed. if the after image stays only a few seconds then contact your dealer as LG had a problem on the control board that caused this and a modified pcb was required.

How long should i leave to whitewash on? Other images disappear after the whitewash or just over time. But there is one strong ghost image which has been getting harder to notice but is still slightly there, even after a few goes with the whitewash. Will it disappear with the tv turned off for a long period of time?

I doubt it will dissappear now. you dont want to use the whitewash feature too often as you are going to lose picture brightness/contrast as this feature only burns the other pixels in an attempt to make them the same as the burnt bit of screen.if you are using the tv for games I would suggest using an old tv or cheap LCD instead

Arrr really? use another tv for gaming, i got the tv for gaming because i though image burn wasn't a big issue anymore. Ive read about how images will only ghost after a few hours of play, never knew it is more like seconds. Only reason why i got a plasma. This really sucks, totally regret getting it now. How often should i use the whitewash? Thanks for your help
