Need some help. just a quick question

I am looking at getting a 50" plasma. It has a 600Hz Sub-Field Drive. http://www.samsclub.com/...44&ci_sku=701694
But as I was looking at costco today they had a 120hz 55" vizio LCD and the picture looked alot different. It looked alot more lifelike. could this just be because of a different setting? I was told that the 600hz sub-field drive is better than a 120hz plasma. they are both 1080P.
I know this section is for plasma but i was hoping you guys could help me out here.
BTW I noticed this when they were playing a clip of "the office". after that it went to the costco ads and what not... I did not notice to much of a difference then...
