New plasma Samsung startup when delivered cold Can't Post

New PN60E550 start up from cold weather delivery - New!

by fdm2000 - 2/4/13 4:07 AM

In SE Michigan our current temperature is in the low teens and I expect truck delivery tomorrow. Would starting the plasma tv without first letting it warm to room temperature cause any issues? The delivery company is supposed to unpack it and plug it in to make sure it turns on - not sure that would be a good idea if set is very cold.

What is the consensus?

Frank

fdm2000;....

Do NOT , I repeat , DO NOT plug in the TV OR turn it on , until it has warmed up to room temperature !!!!
Best to unpack it & LEAVE it set OVERNIGHT !!!!
Cold metal parts & other parts WILL get condensation on them which IS WATER & as you know , water shorts out anything...
Tell the delivery driver that you WILL wait till the set warms & if there's any problems the company will be notified...

Good Luck....Sly.....
