i bought the 42PHD6UY last month and its been giving me great results. It is an excellent system but one gripe:

not enough inputs - comes with two inputs (component and composite/ S-video) with room for one more expansion card.

overall you cant go wrong and at this price too.

in general Panasonics are excellent quality.

Lots of people reported the very same problem with Panasonic plasmas. Some time after use (months or weeks or so), the TV turns off after some time of use (30 minutes, 3 hours, depends).

All those people reported the same problem.

That's the "Shutdown Issue" that plagued Consumer and Commercial Models manufactured between July and September 2003. The Problem (a $16 diode) has been fixed witht the new production.

The VGA (PC) input accepts Component signals. If you are not using it to connect to a Computer, Just get a Component/VGA cable for another Component Input.
