Philips FTR 9964 TV Recevier - Plasma Can't Post

I have acquired 2 Philips FTR-9964 TV recevier. It is used for plasma TV's. Has full assortment of anlog inputs and NTSC tuner input. Outputs via VGA to the VGA input on any plasma monitor. I am using it with a Philips plasma and have tried other plasma sets.
The problem I see on both of these receivers is the same. I can get a picture, but it will only last for about
5 seconds and then it liek loses signal from teh box. IT does this same behavior on 2 other plasma's and even a PC VGA monitor. Anyone have an obscure experience with this receiver, is there something I am missing. I do not have the VGA cable that came with it, have tried 2 different VGA cables. One with all 15 pins intacty and 1 with the 1 pin missing, no difference in rsponse?
Anyone have any experience with this receiver. I am confused or both may not be working for the same non-working reason...?

rptbuyer, single vga cable alone for this set also requires the control cable which attached from the original cable. what's happening here due to the absence of the control cable from the receiver, signals incoming to the plasma do not recognize the validity of the signal unless it's controllable thru the incoming and outgoing which tasks solely from the Receiver. Therefore, the Plasma goes to standby mode instead.

Do you know which connector on the back of the receiver is for the "control cable"?

The control cable is what you called the vga. next to it is: dvi input. both should have connected under the manufacturer's conjunction cable in order to have full control of the receiver towards the display. Phillips FTR-9964 is second generation from FTR-9962 I Believe. they're made in BELGIUM. There isn't much of difference from the first. Another problem would be the type of dvi the tv has. i can't tell you for sure if compatible of DVI-I,DVD-D or just simply DVI-A. You can try any of those cables but better off call Phillips.

Correction! i managed to see the back of the receiver and it seems this is a stand alone receiver. A specially designed VGA type cable connects the E-Box to the Plasma panel. The picture, sound, and infrared control of the E-Box is achieved through the IR port on the Plasma panel. This freedom of control allows the E-Box to be hidden away with the rest of the A/V equipment. The cable originally came with it designed specifically to that receiver to work with other plasma.
