Plasma Accidentaly left on... Can't Post

Hi guys just a quick question (sorry if its been asked before)

i went out for a few hours (6) and left my plasma turned on. There was no signal going to it, it was just left on an AV channel.

Can this damage the panel an any way?

The model I have (previous generation Panasonic ED 42inch) has auto off, but only when you leave it on a blank screen when you select the inbuilt tuner. Since I have a seperate box for tv (and obvioulsy DVD) this feature is never used.

Basically ive turned everything off but the tv. It looks as if it has a backlight turned on (do plasmas have backlights?). Is this a backlight that I can see, or are the pixels actually BLACK (therefore burning into the screen)

Thanks in advance for the help!

P.S there is no notable damage to the screen, this post is just a query.

NO it won't damage your plasma however it's considered in full working/minus 6 hours as being used. NO it doesn't have backlights, since you left it ON. The screen constantly lit/ active and again, burn-in has nothing to do with it.

Your HD BOX should have a Panasonic code so, when you turned it off should your plasma as well.
