Plasma blotchy picture

Help somebody please, im tearing my hair out. I have bought a Sony ke32ts2 plasma and a sony home theatre kit with it. Plugged it all on first day and found to my disgust a really bad picture which looked a bit like a computer in safe mode where they only use half the colours available. Eventually surround speakers where moved away and twenty mins of the tv being off reset it to a fantastic picture.
Since then it has happened again and we moved the centre speaker to the floor, far from ideal but reset picture again. Now it has happened again and the closest speaker is the centre which is approx 2 feet away with no other speakers anywhere near. I have my hifi in a cupboard near it and underneath the tv in a cabinet is my ntl box, xbox, video and the sony dvd home theatre system. Could any of this be interfearing with the picture??? One last point this usually is discovered when we come back to the tv and switch on from cold so it is not even from overheating which was one suggestion i heard.
