Plasma or LCD tv operating outside?? Can't Post

What kind of problems might I run into.
Temps here are up to 120 in the summer and down to 32 in the winters but very dry.
Would like to mount one in a covered patio (so the sun won't hit it) but in the elements.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Tom

I dont think there would be a problem except you, who will be watching at 120* during summer same way at 32* during winter. But to be honest. All are operable under normal conditions. Be very aware on sunlight, Rain and moisture. During winter, if the unit is not on working condition. Make sure its fully covered. when you tend to turn the unit on for a while and turn it off. Cool it off completely before covering.

In most of the specs I've seen, they say the operating temperature is around 104 and in the off position it can go up to 140..which is why I asked, I've noticed in Vegas ( the Strip) they have a lot of them outside and it's well over 104, but they could very well have some kind of cooling units on em. Like I said there's no moisture here..hot and dry so that shouldn't be a problem...But the heat. I guess I'll just have to hook it up and see....maybe not run it during the real hot days.
Who will be watching??? the people in the pool

I have been in vegas twice. I couldn't imagine installing Plasma or LCD without proper cooling. Those billboards you saw on the HOTEL strips are not plasma component whatsoever. However they do have airconditioners piled up built-in behind those boards.

Anyhow, First of, Consider a commercial or professional displays when you intend to put outside. I don't expect you to put consumer displays carried by bestbuy, circuit city or tweeter to be place under those conditions. You must refer to professional installer provided in your area how is it going to be use so proper cooling maintenance will be provided according to the temperature status. I suggest, you do not do this on your own. If you insist: at 125 degrees You must have an air conditioner cooling behind, running continously during operation or not. You must also remove the back cover of the display as it doubles the temperature inside when 125 temperature strikes. I have experienced that weather over there exactly this month of july 5 years from now. Although I loved the scenery, I couldn't imagine coming back. lol........take care!
