Progressive scan Can't Post

I have a plasma LG MT-42PZ91V. The resolution of the screen is 852 x 480, when I set my DVD to progressive scan 480p or 720p or 1080i through DVI conector, I can see the information on the TV screen as 480p, 720p or 1080i. Is it possible for a TV with this resolution to work above 480p? or in spite of showing this information, my TV is working only with 480p?

Re: [Ronaldo] Progressive scan [In reply to] Can't Post

This is all the confusion began with regards to connections. And I always bring everybody back to resolutions, compatibility and lastly> understanding.

Whether your Plasma used as high-def or enhanced definition and connect it with the best input around, DVI or HDMI doesn't mean it will upconvert the lower resolutions ( movie ) into 720p or 1080I as you punching those buttons. Your is Plasma is set the best fit in your screen originally from the source as being fed. It doesn't allow you to 720 progressive thru your screen cause the movie you have in the DVD Player doesn't supports any further resolution than 720p or 1080i Although you have it connected thru DVI.
