hitachi hdt79 sound delay Can't Post
i recently bought the hitachi hdt79. I have a digital cable box and both cable box and dvd are hooked up via hdmi cables. the problem that i am having is that when i have both stereo and tv volume on it creates an echo effect. I am not sure what could be the problem. I was thinking that the tv is the one that is delaying the sound due to processing. I was trying to use a audio out on the tv and running that to the stereo but you can not use a audio out if you are using hdmi. any help would be appreciated.

why not connect the cable box direct to the surround system for audio.also check in the menus for digital audio out feature and use that if your sound system has digital audio in socket.there is no point in having the sound on the tv as well as the surround system as the sound delay gives you the echo effect you can hear

I would like to use the tv as my center channel that is why I have both hooked up. If I use the optical audio out on the tv and run that to my receiver would I have a better chance of eliminating the echo effect since the signal would be coming straight from the tv? thanks

It's not uncommon for there to be a delay. Not much you can do about it.
