lg 50ps3000 movie list

I have a LG 50ps3000 which i would like to connect to an external hardrive to play movies. This model doesn't have Avi, divx, m4v. When I plug into the USB I get a menu which says "photo list" and "music list" but no "movie list" like in the higher 60" models. Is it possible to install this into the tv I have? And How?
