I happen to have the service manual for the Sony PFM-500A3WU. I'm currently trying to fix two of them for my brother in-law. In my case both Monitors have the error codes 12 & 22 which means the high voltage (VS & VA) power supply voltage is low. If this is the same problem you are experiencing, you can purchase a new power supply from Sony for $877.75 at Servicesale.sel.sony.com. The switching power supplies part number is 146852211. If not, let me know what error codes you are seeing and I might be able to forward you the Schematics. I'm Still trobleshooting the units I have, so I still need my copy of the service manual. So far I think I have it narrowed down to the B+ power supply that powers all of the voltage controllers. IC102 is only outputing .5 volts. My problem is I'm not real good at component level repair and my brother in-law is to cheap to buy new power supplies.

Just came across your post regarding the Sony PFM500A3WL. I am working on one of these at the moment with the same symptoms and I was wondering if you have made any progress with yours. I don't have a circuit diagram and have so far just replaced a few susspect capacitors. Have you had any better luck.

I also have a similar fault to you. Fault codes 12 & 22. Is it possible you could send me a copy of the schematics you have please?

I have a cony pfm-500a3wu which powers up but there's probelms with the display. The error code displayed is 12 & 21. Any idea what this could be?? also would you be willing to sell a copy of your service manual or is it too big to copy??...cheers

well the answer to err 12 and 21 isnt good news im afraid acetechie

if you dismantle the plasma tv and get at the display panel inside you will see eight blobs of black epoxy
along the side of the display and you will see a burnt hole blown in one or more of them , i think there some sort of amplifiers but i havent found a chemical the dissolves this black epoxy yet although im still trying , if anyone has a datasheet on the part that is under the exopy i would appriciate a link to it so i can download the pdf

do you still have the tv did you give up im looking for the b board willing to pay 100 dollars for the board my email is robarge81@comcast.net and i have some parts for it if your not willing to part out your tv i have a power supply,xsus board,video logic board
