tv turns to blue screen

We have a 42 " Hitachi plasma purchased in 12/05. In Feb '07 the TV when turned on would go to a blue screen for anywhere from 10-120 seconds and then the channel would appear. It did this sporadically. Now the TV can be on and after 45 minutes the screeen goes to blue screen and does not come back. Can anyone suggest what we do? I have called the site of purchase and they suggested calling Hitachi service.
